Singer Instruments is a

offices are in a beautiful rural location on the edge of Exmoor in Somerset in the South
West of England.
Working
hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Full-time employment includes 20
days annual leave plus bank holidays. Optional, matched pension scheme and healthcare plan available after 3 months.

Sales & Marketing Manager |

Due to expansion plans, an opportunity has arisen for a Sales and Marketing Manager who will develop sales of our current instrument portfolio, identify new markets and identify areas for product development.
You will be responsible for
• Managing our network of existing users and identifying new ones
• Visiting existing and new customers to discuss their needs
• Arranging and performing demonstrations where appropriate
• Attending and demonstrating scientific meetings in the UK and abroad
• Talking to academic collaborators and establishing new ones where appropriate
• Producing market reports based on web research
• Advising the company on possible areas of product expansion
• Meeting, assessing and collaborating with overseas distributors.
• Proposing and managing a sales and marketing budget
• Agreeing sales targets and achieving them
• Digital marketing
You will have a PhD in the life sciences in an area like genetics or molecular biology and have lab bench experience with yeast, e coli or other models. You should have an enduring interest in science and be determined to keep up to date by reading and by web-based research.
You must be well motivated, organised and reliable and able to work as part of a team and alone. You must be a good communicator and possess sound IT skills. You should be willing to travel, both in the UK and abroad as necessary. You should have a clean driving licence and although you will report regularly to our Somerset office, you may be home-based.
